Happy Poeku Tuesday
It’s only Tuesdays that means two more days
Until we can hit up beer buffet.
I hear Aces and Eights is open once more.
Now I’m looking forward to Thursday even more.
It holds a special place in my heart.
If I had to explain why I wouldn’t know where to start.
I love their prices. So cheap they are.
When I have to stumble to the subway I don’t have to go far.
The bar staff is really the best.
They serve up those pitchers with the ultimate finesse.
Their bud light tastes delicious and is sooo so fine.
I can spot out Aces in the NY skyline.
When they closed it was a social disaster.
I wish they had opened up their doors faster.
Aces and Eights holds great memories of seasons past.
Some of them I remember. Others have passed.
So this Thursday is like a homecoming game.
And in this poem my love I proclaim.
This week my team will drink more than enough.
For Amy Whinehouse and the Hoff.
This week beer and sweat we will ooze.
Because Win or Lose, We Still Booze.

And is keeping me from captain duties and such.
Sometimes I say to myself if I could
Put my kickball captain job on my resume I would.
I feel my poem should be about all
The people we’ve met this Summer and Fall.
Let’s start with Ben. He runs Court D.
And court D is the only place he be.
Ben, we really miss you at the bar.
I will buy you an endless amount of PBR.
And then we’ll move over a bit to Court C.
Holding it down there is Andy!
And Darnell keeps strict order on Court A.
And then at the bar it’s flip cup he play!
And last but not least is King David of Court B!
He looks good in stripes. Don’t you agree?
Mandy is my crafty soul mate
She sparkles and shines and is oh so great!

Holy Moose!
Last night some members of WOLWSB took a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and retreated to a warm little cabin called Pine Tree Lodge. Things got a little awkward with a moose.

win or lose, we still run this league on court B
last night something beautiful happened. not only did NYC experience an INSANE 20 minute storm but the love of two teams brought down the city last night as well. WRTL and WOLWSB united as one last night at the 13th step and made beautiful love over cookies, pretzels, lime green glasses and hats and of course some FLIP CUP! there was no hip hop music playing but we managed to get a few dance moves going. check out some pics below!

Last night a few members of WOLWSB decided to take a break from the LES and head to Queens. A big thanks to NYCSSC for scoring some very awesome tickets!

Suprise...
This video has been a work in progress for a VERY long time. Ask Divya who has had to watch several versions. I really really hope you like it. I have had an AMAZING time with all of you these past few weeks. I have even grown to love our forest green shirts (not as much as pink *hint hint NYCSSC throw us a bone next time* but they do go nicely with my day glow shorts) Let me know what you think.

A poem about love
It was a Thursday night. The sky was clear.
Evan Parness was nervous. An important moment was near.
We arrived at the court ready to go.
Turns out the other team was a no show.
We suited up in our capes and our iron man gear.
Ready to play a game and drink some beer.
A team showed up and we all got delighted.
With every inning passed we got more excited.
Finally it was our last at kick.
What was about to go down is totally epic.
It was Cherish Rapp’s turn to step up to the plate.
As Evan prepared to seal her fate.
With a megaphone in hand and a ring ready to go.
He walked on the court to give everyone a show.
He gave a speech that was sweet as could be.
Everyone was there even Darnell came to see!
It was there that it happened with his shorts up- high.Evan got down on one knee and then she cried.
Will you marry me? Is the question he had.
How could she say no to a cape wearing lad?
And guess what, it was YES that she said.
Cherish and Evan are going to wed!
