Today's Poeku comes in the form of definitions via Urban Dictionary:

kickball
-Kickball is a game of passion, of tears, of blood. It is the single greatest game ever conceived, besting even that of a good game of dodgeball. Technically kickball isn't a game of tears and blood, but a good game is marked by the presence of these two elements (as well as a correctly sized (approx. 10") Red Rubber Ball).

-Kickball, like "diaper" is one of those words that SHOULD become slightly embarrassing when paired with "adult". Something you'd rather not exhibit in public. (not true)

-The mad illest game takin' over the whole east coast.

-that which you cannot help but miss; a place which is incomprehensible to anyone else but those who have gone there.

I like kickball,
It is fun.
I like to kick,
But not to run.

I like when Andrew's on my team.
We always get home runs.
We try not to be so mean.
We play until we're done.

wow! what a great first poeku tuesday we're having!  kristy and danny were kind enough to lend their poetic prose to our beloved WOLWSB blog.  all day i've been thinking about the contribution i could make to poeku tuesday and i've found the answer!

Happy poeku day!

This week our other favorite blog, Action Weekly featured alot of posts about fashion. There was a lovely picture of Matt's tangerine shirt that was rather snug and left little to the imagination. There was even a post about our capes! In honor of Action Weekly's fashion week, my poem is about WOLWSB kickball fashion advice!

Kickball is unlike any other game.
You gotta look good or suffer shame.
You better impress while you play.
WOLWSB will show you the way.
The first step to lookin good on the court
Is to wear a pair of shorts that are really rather short.
Long pants or shorts just get in your way.
Lots of leg showing is the way to play.
But please girls please, do not appeal.
You can be a lady in the street but a freak on the field.
Another thing that your team can try
Is wearing black lines under your eye
This looks good and can be kind of scary
And will make your opponent feel very unwary.
Glow sticks really sparkle and shine.
And light up the bar while you’re flippin in line!
And last but not least and the best advice to speak.
Is to wear a cape, a different color each week.
They look so lovely and make you feel like you’re flying.
You can run and catch balls without really trying.
A cape is how you razzle dazzle and impress.
It is the most important item to put on when you dress.
You must treat the kickball court like it's a runway.
And strut your stuff while you play!
As you put all your kickball fashions to the test.
Remember this one last request.
It’s not just vital to look fly when you run the bases.
You gotta be able to have fun at aces!
